Being the wonderful husband that I am, I planned Patty's birthday today well. Not only was it to be our longest day of driving (over 600 miles through mountains), but our destination was Elko, Nevada. Elko is not only home to numerous small, sketchy looking casinos, but it also boasts an impressive culinary scene, with elegant restaunts like "Pizza Barn" and "Taco Time."
While planning back in Chicago, I think I might have read the Tripadvisor restaurant reviews for Elko a bit too optimistically. Thankfully, as Patty mentioned, we found a decent Italian restaurant called Luciano's, and also splurged on lavish desserts (which I described in a previous post).
