We spent the weekend in the San Bernardino area (about 90 minutes east of LA), staying with some good friends from college. I'm sure the kids were glad to NOT spend 9 hours in the car each day, and they had a great time playing. Our friends had a playset in their backyard, which the kids were all to happy to use.

Despite what the next two pictures look like, we were not torturing Emma.

All in all, it was an ideal weekend to take it easy and relax after the long journey cross country. Just what our family needed.
