Backtrack: Phoenix

We left San Diego on Sunday, and drove the 5 hours to Phoenix to stay with friends there for a night. We took Interstate 8, which drives very close to the border with Mexico. It was a good day for interesting signs:
We must be close to the border
Oops, did we cross it by accident?
I was hoping to see a sign when we were 310 miles from Yuma. Also, why does Arizona need a haven from Winter?
Look! A cactus in Arizona! Oh, I guess we're tourists.
I think we're in Arizona now...
Considering we had the kids with us, we obviously didn't stop

When we got to D & A's house, the kids had lots of fun.
Josiah with JT (and a big pile of Pokemon cards)

The girls having some elaborate princess tea party...

Which resumed in the morning (note the bedhead on both our girls)
The animals were hungry too.
Patty also got to see some friends from her Pharmacy school days before we left Phoenix.
Then we were off to New Mexico!
